Oral Hygiene Bracknell Berkshire

According to a survey of 2,000 UK adults on the topic of oral hygiene, two-thirds of people interviewed said they brush their teeth for less than two minutes while one in three skip toothbrushing altogether when feeling 🥱tired or lazy after a long day. Feeling sick is also a powerful deterrent with 25% of people skipping toothbrushing if unwell.

It can be hard after a busy day when you feel ready to crash into bed to pluck up the courage to reach for the 🪥toothbrush. But brushing your teeth twice a day for two minutes with fluoride toothpaste will prevent plaque from building up and will help keep your teeth and mouth healthy. It’s important to be regular and thorough and to stick to this routine every single day – even on days when you’re in a rush or you feel too tired or under the weather. Those 2 minutes can make a big difference!

If you feel you have at times slipped into less than perfect toothbrushing habits, don’t worry: it’s not too late to do something about it. You can always book an appointment to see one of our dental hygienists for a thorough clean and to get their top toothbrushing tips. Simply give Lisa Bonello a call on ☎️ 01344 300 417 or 📱07765 333 768 or 📧 pc@crownwooddental.co.uk

TODAY IS NATIONAL NO SMOKING DAY 🚭🚭🚭🚭

We know how difficult it can be, but stopping smoking is one of the best things you’ll ever do for your health – and that includes your oral and dental health too. Many people don’t realise the damage smoking does to their mouth, gums and teeth. Here’s how smoking affects your oral health causing tooth staining, gum disease and in more severe cases mouth cancer: https://www.dentalhealth.org/smoking-and-oral-health

By stopping smoking, you will reduce your risk of mouth cancer and you will enjoy better oral health. But it’s important to remain vigilant and to flag anything unusual with your dentist. Mouth cancer is often detected early through dental check-ups, so please remember to book an appointment every 6 months.

If you would like to book a dental check-up or if you feel you would benefit from a hygiene appointment to enjoy whiter, cleaner, shinier teeth, get in touch with Lisa Bonello, our Patient Care Co-Ordinator, on ☎ 01344 300 417 📱07765 333 768 or email 📧 pc@crownwooddental.co.uk

“Poor oral health can affect the health of the hippocampus – a part of the brain involved in memory, learning and emotion. The hippocampus is also vulnerable to Alzheimer’s disease”.
