We know how difficult it can be, but stopping smoking is one of the best things you’ll ever do for your health – and that includes your oral and dental health too. Many people don’t realise the damage smoking does to their mouth, gums and teeth. Childrens Teeth Bracknell Berkshire

Do you sometimes worry that your children are not brushing their teeth properly? Are they doing a rushed job so that they can go off and play?

You will find everything there is to know from brushing their first tooth to their first trip to the dentist with specific advice tailored to their age (up to 3 years old, 3-6 years old, aged 7 and over).

Here are some top tips to help children brush their teeth properly:

🪥Guide your child’s hand so they can feel the correct movement

🪥Use a mirror 🪞so that your child can see where the brush is cleaning their teeth

🪥Make it fun by using an egg timer⏳to time it for about 2 minutes.

🪥Don’t let children run around with a toothbrush in their mouth, as they may hurt themselves.

A regular teeth-cleaning routine at home is essential but just as important is making sure they get regular dental checkups from when their first milk teeth appear. Shrove Tuesday

Today is Shrove Tuesday and who doesn’t love a pancake (or two, or three…)?

Sometimes the simplest pancakes are the nicest: try, for example, adding just lemon 🍋 and sugar. You can also get creative and experiment with all sorts of delicious combinations: blueblerries 🫐, chocolate 🍫, bananas 🍌, ice cream 🍨…

You can also enjoy savoury pancakes – just add your favourite fillings, whether it’s ham, cheese, tomatoes, egg, spinach or mushrooms to name just a few.

🪥There is just one important thing to remember – and that’s not only valid for those who have a sweet tooth 🦷- make sure you thoroughly brush your teeth afterwards for a good 2 minutes.  And resist the temptation to go back for more after brushing your teeth😋
